The Grumpy Owl

"GET AWAY FROM MY TREE" the grumpy owl would say
when an unsuspecting person came his way

He'd throw down berries and swoop down low
until the poor frightened people would have to go

Then one day what the owl did
was scare the wrong person who ran and hid

For her father was a lumberjack
she'd go get him and bring him back

Her father came with his big shiney axe
"I'll make you pay for these foul attacks"

The owl pleaded "please spare my tree,
just one last chance, just for me"

The lumberjack warned "just one more attack"
he'd sharpen his axe then he'd be back

The very next day when people walked by
the owl just tooted and winked his eye

He even swooped down to say hello
and the grumpy owl was grumpy no more.
